Daisy Nationals
Daisy National BB Gun Championship Match
What it is: The Daisy National BB Gun Championship Match, also known as the Daisy Nationals, is a three-day competition for teams of young marksmen aged 8 to 15.
When and where: It takes place in Rogers, Arkansas, typically in July. The 2024 event will be the 57th annual Daisy Nationals.
Who participates: Teams from all over the country compete, with only the top three teams from each state championship qualifying. Each team has five members and up to two alternates.
The competition: Shooters use Daisy Avanti Champion Model 499 muzzle-loaded single-shot BB guns and compete in a 5-meter, 4-position match. They shoot 10 shots each in standing, sitting, kneeling, and prone positions at a 10-ring target. The bullseye is about the size of a BB, and accuracy is key!
More than just shooting: While winning is exciting, the Daisy Nationals is about more than just competition. It’s also a chance for young people to make friends, learn about gun safety, and participate in fun activities like field trips and awards ceremonies.
Safety first: Gun safety is a top priority at the Daisy Nationals. All participants must pass a written safety test, and safety rules are strictly enforced throughout the competition.
A long history: The Daisy Nationals has been held since 1966, making it one of the longest-running youth shooting competitions in the country.
A family-friendly event: The Daisy Nationals is a great event for the whole family. There are plenty of activities for non-shooters, such as food vendors, games, and exhibits.
