Regretfully, today the decision was made to cancel the 2020 Daisy National BB Gun Championship. This decision was not made lightly. This event is for the kids, and we feel that with the COVID-19 restrictions placed on events in our state, it simply is not possible this year.
Below is a statement from Daisy President and CEO, Keith Higginbotham.
“We decided today to cancel the 2020 Daisy National BB Gun & Air Rifle Championship Match in July. I hope all of you know that we did not make this decision lightly. Please know that the safety of everyone was our most important concern. We want to thank all of the coaches, parents and organizations that gave us their input over the past few weeks as we worked through this process.
We feel for all of the kids that worked so hard to qualify and know this is a big disappointment. These kids are why we go to work each day at Daisy. You have my word that we will resume the competition and that Daisy is committed to teaching young people the shooting sports. From everyone at Daisy, we appreciate your understanding of the decision we made to cancel the 2020 event.
I know this announcement will spark a lot of questions, so since we have a lot of our people working from home, I would ask that you please email all questions to nationals@daisy.com and we will reply.
For those of you at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Rogers for the event, we have cancelled the event, and therefore the hotel reservations for the special rates have been cancelled. You do not have to call them to cancel your reservations, unless you have additional dates that were extra outside the event dates.
For those of you that have made reservations at our hotels, you will need to call to cancel those.
